New DynoMax 2010 Camaro Exhaust System Promises Solid HP Gains

New Product: 2010 Camaro owners can enjoy added power, sound and looks with the latest DynoMax exhaust system

After-market exhaust system manufacturers will almost always promise that their exhaust systems improve performance, but often time these companies are unwilling or unable to specify a particular performance improvement. That’s why it’s refreshing to see DynoMax offer specific performance improvement estimates for their new 2010 Camaro exhaust system.

2010 Chevy Camaro 3.6L V6

• Stock horsepower: 304 hp at 6400 RPM
• Stock torque: 273 lb-ft @5200 RPM
• HP gain with DynoMax exhaust: 16 hp
• Torque gain with DynoMax exhaust: 21 lb-ft

2010 Chevy Camaro 6.2L V8

• Stock horsepower: 426 hp at 5900 RPM
• Stock torque: 420 lb-ft @4600 RPM
• HP gain with DynoMax exhaust: 14 hp
• Torque gain with DynoMax exhaust: 15 lb-ft

The new systems from DynoMax feature 409 stainless steel, 2.5″ mandrel-bent tubing, Ultra Flo mufflers, and a nice set of 4″ stainless steel exhaust tips.

While we would like to see some dyno graphs to support the horsepower and torque figures quoted by DynoMax, the claims seem reasonable. The figures for the V6 might be a little optimistic (no idea, just a guess), but the figures for the 6.2L V8 make sense. After-market exhaust systems typically boost performance 3-5%, and the DynoMax system definitely falls into that range.
