Flowmaster’s Clever “Show Us Your Flow” Video Contest
One of the reasons that I created ExhaustVideos.com was because I noticed on TundraHeadquarters.com how Tundra owners would watch videos before buying an exhaust system, and I wanted to try and create a site where you could find videos for a specific make and model to make the buying process as easy as possible. To that end, we’ve cataloged a few hundred videos by make and model with plans to catalog many, many more.
While we’re busy writing up more models (getting ready to add a couple dozen new pages to the site very soon), Flowmaster has done a very smart thing and announced a video contest. The rules are very simple: Upload a video of your Flowmaster or Hushmaster muffler, then send us a link. If you win the weekly contest, you get a hat and t-shirt. If you win the monthly contest, you get a new exhaust system. If you win the annual contest, you get a free trip to SEMA! Nice, right?
Here’s the video they put together promoting the contest and the first couple of winners: Read more
DynoMax Expands VT Muffler Line-Up
The DynoMax “drone free” VT muffler is now available on a wider variety of vehicles, according to the DynoMax website. We profiled the DynoMax VT muffler a few weeks back, so you should check it out if you haven’t already. The muffler design is conceptually very simple, and based on some testing we found it seems to work.
The list of vehicles that DynoMax has added to their VT muffler line-up is telling – it’s a safe bet that most of the vehicles on this list have some sort of drone problem with a lot of after-market mufflers: Read more
A Bad Review For Callaway Corvette Exhaust System
Callaway is to the Chevy Corvette what Roush is to the Ford Mustang – they both make a great thing just a little bit better.
In Callaway’s case, that means improving on the already excellent Vette. Some of these improvements are focused on comfort – like some incredibly comfortable new seats – but Callaway is also focused on performance.
The problem is, it’s hard to improve upon the performance of the already capable Corvette. It’s especially difficult to improve the exhaust system – which is probably why Car and Driver gave the latest generation Callaway Corvette exhaust system a bad review: Read more
Scion iQ Performance Exhaust Preview
Concept cars are almost always fun, even when the concept is based on a tiny little commuter car like the soon-to-debut Scion iQ. The truth is, a car doesn’t have to be fast to be fun to drive – and a 100hp little street rod is definitely not going to be fast – but by all accounts a tuned-up iQ can be very fun.
Check out this tuned-up version of the iQ that made an appearance at the recent Tokyo Auto Salon:
The engine in this concept is only 1.3 liters, and in the factory-tuned configuration it manages a meager 90 hp. However, add a Gazoo Racing supercharger to this car and you’re working with 126 hp.
Sure sure – 126hp isn’t a lot either – but think about that increase as a percentage. The supercharged iQ has 30%+ more horsepower, yet it still weighs about the same. In the words of an Edmunds.com InsideLine reviewer, a less powerful version of the car above offered “Plenty of grip, not much roll and an alert front end” that ” make this iQ an infinitely chuckable little warrior.”
Not a bad review.
Of course, we like to talk about exhaust systems here, so let’s just mention a couple of things about the exhaust system images below: Read more

New Dynomax Exhaust System for 2008-2010 Ford SuperDuty
New Product: DynoMax Exhaust System for 2008+ Ford Super Duty
Diesel pickup trucks can benefit a lot from exhaust systems. Part of the reason is that big diesel pickups rely upon turbochargers, and turbochargers spool up quicker when they’re attached to a low-restriction exhaust system.
Another reason that diesels benefit so much from exhaust system upgrades is that they make a lot of exhaust – especially when they’re tuned up with a computer chip or a Banks PowerPack. If you own a 2008-2010 Ford SuperDuty F250 or F350 with a diesel, you want to look into a new exhaust system.
But what if you own a Super Duty with a 5.4L V8 or 6.8L V10? Read more
Mopar Exhaust for Off-Road Ram 1500

Everyone knows about the Ford F150 SVT Raptor – arguably one of the coolest production trucks ever made. It’s a dedicated off-road truck that’s available to regular old consumers like you and me for a reasonably fair price (figure $35k – $45k).
While there’s probably only room for one truck manufacturer to build a dedicated off-road package, that doesn’t mean that Ram 1500 owners can’t get in on the action. Mopar – Chrysler’s dedicated vehicle accessories division – is offering something called a “Ram Runner” kit for late-model Rams that includes a massive long-travel suspension upgrade, a slew of suspension enhancements, wheels and tires, etc.
However, one thing that Mopar doesn’t include in the Ram Runner kit is an upgraded exhaust system. Read more

How Cast Aluminum Wheels Are Made
Recommended Reading: How They Build It: Aluminum Wheels
When it comes to after-market wheels, there are two common material options – steel wheels and aluminum wheels. While steel wheels are useful for dedicated off-road vehicles and heavy-duty trucks, aluminum wheels are a good option for almost all cars, trucks, and SUVs.
Aluminum wheels are preferred for most consumer vehicles because: Read more
